Virtual Tech Fair Guy's In Show FAQ

What Are The Show Hours?
The Virtual Tech Fair is open Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 8 a.m. central and continues 24 hours a day through Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 6 p.m. central.

What Are The Show PC Specifications?
eComXpo is a browser based internet application that requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Firefox 1.5 or higher. The show will not function on other browsers. If you are a Mac user you will need to access the show from the Firefox 1.5 or higher browser type. Viewing the show requires a high speed internet connection; the show will not function correctly with dial-up. The show has extensive use of pop-up screens so any pop-up blocker software should be disabled. Also cookies are used during the show and need to be enabled through Internet Explorer. If you will be attending any of the presentations, be sure to have your speakers on. For more information click here.

What Do The Icons On The Toolbar Do?

The show toolbar is located at the top of the show floor.

  • Select the “Home” icon and you are returned to the main Exhibit Hall.

  • The “Profile” icon takes you to your profile page. Here you provide contact information such as address along with your company information. In this section you can also assign the show character that you want to use while touring the show floor.

  • Select “Communicate” to initiate in show email, chat and v-card exchange as well as to check your emails and pending chats.

  • Select the “Search” icon to launch to the Search/Interactive Showfloor.

  • Select the “Profile Match” icon to launch the Profile Matching Tool.

  • Select the “Auditorium” icon to launch to the Education Center.

  • Select the “Lounge” icon to start a discussion with other Attendees.

  • Select the “Totebag” to view the items (PDFs, PowerPoints, Word Documents) that you had collected from the booth. The “Totebag” is also used to upload the collected files to your PC.

How Do I Navigate The Show Floor?
On both show floors are the Platinum and Gold Sponsored booths. To select a booth just click on the booth and you will be taken directly to the show floor. At the top of the show floor are four doorways, one will take you to the Education Center where Show Presentations can be viewed, one is the Prize Center where you can view the show and booth prizes and see the number of chances you have accumulated in the show, another is the Lounge where you can go to hang out between presentations and chat with other attendees, and the last one is access to either show floor depending on which floor you are currently in. How Do I Find Show Attendees?

  • Method 1
    Click the “Search” tab on the top of your screen. This method includes a “Quick Search” function that is very powerful.

  • Method 2
    Use the Profile Matching tool by clicking the icon on your toolbar. This approach will allow you to search for the attendees or exhibitors based on criteria you select.

Can I Communicate With Someone That Is Not Online?
To communicate with someone offline, send an email within the show. When they come online the email will be in their in show mail box.

How Do I Access A Booth?
Booths can be accessed from multiple areas including:

  • Show Floor—By Clicking on the booth

  • Search—By selecting the booth from a list

  • Banner Ad—By clicking on the ad

How Do I See What Presentations Are Available?
Show presentations are located in the Education Center which is accessed from the show floor and/or the top toolbar under “Auditorium”. Here you will be able to see what the presentation is about and who the presentor is. Once you click on a desired presentation you will be able to download slides and select "Add to my Schedule" to be reminded of the presentation in your Outlook calendar.

Can I Leave and Then Re-Enter A Presentation?
First run presentations do allow for re-entry. However, each time you leave and re-enter during a scheduled run the presentation will start at the beginning. It is recommended that you log in at the scheduled start time so that you will remain in synch with the presentation and not miss any of the Live Q&A following the presentation.  

What Are The Types Of Prizes (Giveaways)?
There are two categories of prizes (Giveaways), Show and Booth. All attendees qualify for Show prizes and accumulate chances based on their activity in the show. To qualify for a booth giveaway the attendee must go into that exhibitor’s booth and click on the Giveaway link. For more information click here.

Where's my Show Data?
All of your show data (Mail Messages, VCards, Chats, Booth Visits, etc.) are available via the Data Portal after the show.
